
Thanksgiving is one of the more popular holidays during the seasons. People look forward to Thanksgiving because it’s a day where you get to see your family and friends but you also get to eat alot of good food. There are many family’s that celebrate with different dishes. Some dishes most people have never heard of or tried, or everyone knows them. One of the most popular dishes you think about during Thanksgiving is Turkey. In fact 90% of people that celebrate Thanksgiving, eat turkey on Thanksgiving. Some least popular dishes are Corn Pudding, Candied Yams, Hash brown casserole, Collard greens, and rutabagas. Some people on Thanksgiving spend time with their family and friends doing different family traditions. Some traditions people do on Thanksgiving is, breaking the wishbone of the turkey, going around the table saying what you are thankful for, Black Friday shopping, watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade or other Thanksgiving parades and watching football games. For Thanksgiving a lot of people take the time and say why they are thankful for each other, to show that they are thankful for others. Some people show their appreciation through making cards, or different art projects. For example some people decide to make hand turkeys, where they trace their hand on a piece of paper and turn it into a turkey, saying “I am thankful for you.” Recently, the lower school students did a type of Thanksgiving art project similar, where they colored in turkey’s and pumpkin’s with a note on it that said “I am thankful for you.” These papers were then put up on the upper schoolers locker’s. No matter how old you are, you are never too young or too old to celebrate Thanksgiving. It’s a holiday where everyone feels included. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to show that you care for the people you love, so next time you see them tell them you are thankful for them!
