If you live in Greenville NC and want to get in the holiday spirit, this is the article for you. There are many different holiday and Christmas activities and events that you can go to in Greenville. Here is some information:
Light at the Refuge: The Refuge is a fun place to go to during the hoiday season especially if you love looking at all the different holiday lights. Light at the Refuge is where you can drive through to look at Christmas lights for free. (Some of the lights show the story of Jesus). But if you don’t want to drive, you can park near the entrance and go on a tractor-drawn wagon or a horse-drawn wagon that will take you through all the lights. However the wagon rides are not free, they range between $15-$20 per person, depending on which wagon you decide to ride. You have to purchase the tickets for the wagon rides 24 hours before the ride. At the entrance, there are also food trucks. The Light at the Refuge’s hours are 5:30pm-9:00pm, typically on Mondays through Fridays. If you are interested in going here’s the address to it: 1380 Lower Field Rd, Ayden, NC 28513 Also for more information about The Refuge, here’s their website: https://ncrefuge.org/the-light/
The Festival of Trees: In Greenville, there is a festival of trees. This festival is where companies, schools, and programs decorate trees for fundraisers. The public can come and look at all the different trees, take photos, and donate to the fundraisers they have there. A fundraiser for Family Violence Prevention is usually included; these funds support vital services for domestic violence survivors in the community. The Festival of Trees is held at the Greenville Convention Center. Here’s the address: Greenville Convention Center
Ice Skating: Ice skating is fun to do with your friends and family, even if you have never ice skated before. Ice skating is hard at first, when you are still learning how to skate, but once you get the hang of it, it’s fun! If I’m being completely honest with you, you are going to fall at least once when you ice skate (so don’t panic when you do). Falling and being helped up by others is a bonding experience! In Greenville NC, you can go to the Carolina Ice Zone to ice skate. Here’s the address: The Carolina Ice Zone
Holiday Market: Holiday Markets are exciting to go to and see all the different holiday and Christmas decorations along with local vendors. Vendors will normally sell homemade baked goods, hot cocoa, and holiday gifts, along with other items you can buy. Sometimes at holiday markets there is also live music and a photo booth with Santa for kids. In Greenville, the Holiday Market is on December 20th, from 8:00pm-12:00pm. This Holiday Market is at Leroy James Farmers Market. Here’s the address if you are interested in going: Leroy James Farmers Market . There are many other markets in the area that are holiday themed that you can go to as well!
There are many different events in Greenville that you, friends, and family can go to, but I think everyone’s favorite event is being with their family during the holidays. Let’s use these holidays to spend time and show appreciation for our family!
