Art Studio students have just finished their first project, or they are wrapping up their first project of the year. This will not be their only project though, they still have atleast two more projects to finish before January, 23rd, 2026. These students are now starting the process they used for their first project again, and this time it will be more of a smooth transition between the steps they used last time, since they have already done it. Students will pick out what they want their next project to be and what materials they will need for it. To help these students pick, they will look back over their artist discovery projects to find what artist they want their second project to be loosely inspired by and the principle design they will use. In between our three projects we can take breaks and work on something besides our projects. For example, we took a break recently in October and did an experiment with water colors, we called it Blobtober. We made 6 squares on water color paper and filled the squares with different colors making blobs. After we painted the blobs we added salt on top of the paint to make a reaction, making colors spread. After we painted with water colors, we let the paper dry. Then the art studio students can come back to the paper any time they need a break from their projects and draw with pen ink around the blobs making them turn into objects or animals. The students can decide when they want a break and work on the Blobtober activity or other activty’s we have done in the past to take breaks. After the students finish or want to come back to the projects they can, but they have to have their actual projects done in January. Art Studio students will have to get their three projects done in January so we can prepare for the Art show in March. When it’s closer to the time of the art show I will give more information and go into detail about the Art show so everyone can see what these students have done and worked really hard on in our art studio class.
