Learning a new language can be scary, but it feels easier when we can communicate and learn from others who have done it before! Here is an 8th grader who just came from Latin named Sarah Zwart.
Q. What did you enjoy the most about the Latin class?
A. I like that he makes it fun to learn. For example, the activity with the Nerf gun was my favorite.
Q. What is some advice you would give the new incoming Latin students?
A. Study even if you think you already know everything. Study even if there is no test or quiz assigned yet.
Q. What were some of the main things you learned this year?
A. I learned a whole new vocabulary in just a few months. I even learned some new English words.
Q. How often was there a test/quiz/homework?
A. There is always a quiz after we learn new vocabulary. I have only had two tests so far, other than the midterm. We don’t really get that much homework.
Q. What were some of the rules Mr. Taylor enforced in the classroom?
A. Don’t talk over him. Don’t steal more candy than you’re offered.
Q. What did you enjoy most about Mr. Taylor?
A. He has a sense of humor
Q. How do you feel about the change?
A. It will be hard at first, but it will get better.
Q. What are your ideas about Spanish?
A. I would love to learn Spanish.
